Reasonable Rates for Middle America
We limit the estates we administer to those approximating $100,000 to $2 million in value, with rare exceptions. We have found that for estates in this range, our reasonable hourly rates provide a better value for clients than the fixed percentage fees charged by many firms.
A $500,000 estate with only a few types of assets may be no more complicated than an estate one-fourth that size. Why should you pay more for the same legal services? Our feeling is that you should pay for only the services you incur, and no more.
Also, by limiting our estate clientele to roughly the same size and degree of difficulty, we can work more efficiently, providing a higher level of service to all our clients.
To make sure our firm is a good fit to handle an estate, we meet with new clients first. We look at the estimated value of the estate, the number and types of assets, the proposed distribution, and other factors to determine if our firm is likely to be a good value for you. If so, we explain why, and give you a detailed description of how we’ll work for you and what we’ll charge.
